Clasificaciónde exactitud
El material volumétrico está dividido en dos clases: clase A y clase B. La clase del material volumétrico indica el grado de la exactitud y precisión para la certificación oficial. Y también el tiempo de espera y de vertido. Todas lastolerancias están dentro de los límites aceptados por las normas UNE e ISO.

Accuracy classification
Volumetric glassware are divided into two groups (classes): class A and class B. The class of the volumetric glassware indicates the degree of accuracy and suitability for official certification. And also the delivery and waiting times. All tolerances fulfil the limits of UNE and ISO standards.Tiempos de esperay vertido
El tiempo de vertido es el tiempo necesario para que el menisco pase de la marca superior hasta la marca inferior o la punta de la pipeta o bureta. El tiempo de espera empieza después de que acabe el tiempo de vertido. Durante el tiempo de espera el líquido continúa cayendo por las paredes del tubo. Para conseguir la mejor medida con las buretas y pipetas, se tiene queprestar atención al tiempo de espera. Especialmente con las pipetas, debe apoyar la punta sobre la pared del contenedor que está siendo usado.

Delivery and waiting times
The delivery time is the time needed for the meniscus to pass from the upper mark to standstill which is mostly the tip of the pipette or burette. The waiting time starts after the delivery process finishes. During the waitingtime remaining liquid continues to flow down from the glass wall. For the most accurate measure of volume with burettes and pipettes someone has to pay attention to the waiting time. Specially with pipettes you have to wipe off the pipette tip on the wall of the glassware that is used.

Midiendoel volumen
La norma ISO requiere que el volumen se lea en el punto más bajo del nivel de líquido. Elpunto más bajo tiene que tocar el límite superior de la marca de graduación. El menisco es la curvatura en la superficie del líquido. Dicha curvatura es causada por la tensión superficial del líquido. En el vidrio volumétrico la forma del menisco es cóncava (curvada hacia abajo). Para unos resultados más exactos y precisos, el ojo del observador debe estar a la misma altura que el menisco. Paraconseguir una lectura mejor,más rápida y precisa puede poner una banda negra detrás, justo debajo de la marca de graduación y la línea de menisco.

Measuring the volume
ISO Standard requires the volume to be read at the lowest point of the liquid level. This lowest point has to touch the upper limit of the graduation mark. Meniscus isthe curvature in the surface of the liquid. The curvature is caused by the surface tension of the liquid. On the volumetric glassware the shape of the meniscus is concave (curved downwards). For accurate and most precise results the eye of the observer must be at the same level of the meniscus. To get a better, faster and precise reading and measurement a black strip should be held at the back,just below the graduation mark and meniscus line. Ojo Observer’s eye
