SOUTH AFRICA



In the past, South Africa was composed by movements of the Bantus and slaves. But since 1952 the European colonizations arrived. The first one was Jan Van Riebbeck. The duchesswere not interested in conquer more territories what they wanted was create new and beautiful cities. Since then a colonization process started. In 1795 The occupation of Cape Town was made by theduchess and in 1803 Cape Town was officially “property of the duchess”. In 1806 Great Britain occupies Cape Town and in consequence in 1833 12.000 boers left Cape Town because they were subjected to thecontrol of the britains and went up to the north. But the conquest of the interior of South Africa went bad with the discovery of the diamonds (1867). In consequence there where very bad wars betweenGreat Britain, the boers and the black people. The first Anglo-boer was won by the duchess. The second Anglo-boer war was won by the britains.
But what is racism?
Racism can be defined has thephysical characters that made one person inferior of the other races. What happened in South Africa was that the racism was moved to a much more extremist point, the apartheid that means that is wasprohibited the mix of races. The laws in South Africa related with the apartheid were very stricted, for example the indigenous can't move around. With the pass of the years the apartheid in South Africa wasmuch more extremist, like laws that classified people in black, colored, Indian or white. If we see the history of South Africa related with the apartheid in 1948 the national party put a bigemphasis to the apartheid, like the separation in parks, beaches, bathrooms.... Related with the education depending on your race you were educated in a type of education... During these period there wheredemonstration and protest but there weren't listened.
