Displays
Different displays are used on the Vision Slot to convey information to players, operators and technicians. These displays are described in the following sections. • Section 16.1, Incandescent Displays are used to indicate coins accepted for a particular payline. The machine can be ordered with a number of different payline configurations. • Section 16.2, LEDDisplays are used for the Coins Played, Credits and Winner Paid Displays. • Section 16.3, Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) located in the machine door, is used for game play, attract sequence, diagnostic, error and set up messages. • Section 16.4, Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is used for bonus games and graphic displays including diagnostics, error messages, attract sequences and machine setup.November 15, 1997

16.1 Incandescent Displays
16 Displays

Incandescent displays on the Vision Slot are mounted on the edge of the opening for the reel glass nearest the hinge. No hardware is used to retain these displays. Plastic tabs on the barrier fit into notches on the machine door (see Figure 16 1).16.1.1 Bulb Replacement
Bulbs are the wedge base type, retained by a quarter turn holder on the printed circuit board that is part of the display assembly.

Removal
1. Open the machine door and turn the power off. 2. Grasp the bulb holder and turn it approximately 1/4 turn counterclockwise until it is free of the PC board. 3. While holding the bulb holder, carefully grasp the bulb and pull itstraight out of the holder.

Caution: Do not use pliers or other tools on the bulb during replacement; the bulb may break and cause injury.

Installation
1. Check the new bulb and make sure the copper leads are folded over, one on each side, to make contact in the holder. 2. Push the new bulb into the holder until the wedge base is all the way down between the contacts. 3. Insert the bulb holderinto the PC board and turn approxi mately 1/4 turn clockwise until it is seated. 4. Turn the power on; close and lock the machine door.

16.1.2 Display Assembly Replacement
The display is permanently assembled at the factory. If any prob lems occur with the unit other than bulbs, replace the entire unit.

Removal
1. Open the machine door and turn the power off. 2. Disconnect the wiring connector from the assembly. 3. Slide the unit up and away from the door edge to remove.November 15, 1997

1. Insert the tabs on the side of the display assembly into the notches on the inner door edge. 2. Slide the unit down until it locks into position. 3. Connect the wiring connector to the assembly. 4. Turn the power on; close and lock the machine door.

16.2 LED Displays
The 7 segment LED displays include the Winner Paid, Credits and Coins Played displays located at the bottom of the reel glass in the machine door (see Figure 16 2). The LED displays are permanently assembled to the light barrier/LED display.

Removal
1. Open the machine door and turn thepower off. 2. Disconnect and remove the vacuum fluorescent display. Refer to Section 16.3 for details. 3. Disconnect the wiring connector from the LED assembly (see Figure 16 1). 4. Hold the light barrier in place and remove the three screws along the bottom edge. 5. Hold the reel glass in place and lift the light barrier/LED dis play assembly away from the door.
