Tendencias sobre el uso de la biodiversidad

RESUMEN

Este capítulo presenta una descripción sobre las tendencias políticas e institucionales acer­ca del manejo de la biodiversidad en los ám­bitos mundial y nacional.
También muestra las tendencias del compor­tamiento de algunos aspectos relevantes que garantizan el uso sostenible y la conservación de la biodiversidad.
Entreestos aspectos resaltan las áreas pro­tegidas, el acceso a los recursos genéticos, el reparto justo y equitativo de los beneficios derivados de su uso, los bosques, la protec­ción de los derechos de los pueblos indíge­nas, y el biocomercio.
Para su entendimiento, se presenta lo con­cerniente al derecho internacional y sus me­canismos, la evolución histórica de los con­venios vinculados con labiodiversidad, y una enumeración de los convenios más impor­tantes y su relación con el Convenio sobre la Diversidad Biológica, que se constituye en marco de referencia.
En el ámbito nacional, se analiza el marco jurídico vinculado al uso y conservación de la biodiversidad y su relación con los compro­misos mundiales, y se interpretan las tenden­cias mostradas por los aspectos relevantes en torno altema de la biodiversidad y los ele­mentos que han transformado su situación.

This chapter presents a description of tenden­cies in the political and institutional ambit concerning the management of biodiversity in the national and global ambit.
It also shows thetendencies of behavior of some outstanding aspects in the use and con­servation of biodiversity, understanding these as those elements that guarantee the conser­vation of biodiversity components, as well as its sustainable use.
Protected areas stand out among these as­pects; the access to genetic resources; fair and equitable distribution of the benefits de­rived from the use; forests; protectionof the rights of indigenous people; and biotrade.
For the record, there is a relation among the international law and its mechanisms; the historical evolution of the agreements con­nected to biodiversity; a list of the most im­portant agreements and its relation with the Convention on Biological Diversity, using it as a framework of reference.
The legal framework is analyzed in the na­tionalambit connected to the use and con­servation of biodiversity and its interrelation with global commitments, with interpreting tendencies showed by outstanding aspects of biodiversity and with the elements that have transformed the situation.
