The black Cat
This story is about a kind man who loved the animals. He was married and his wife loved the animals too. They had a black cat, called Pluto, it was his favourite pet. It was veryintelligent and it followed him everywhere. But, he was changing because he started to drink, he became a selfish person and he began to use bad language with his wife, and even hit her sometimes. Soon hebegan to hurt Pluto too. One night when he returned to his house the cat was away from him and he couldn’t understand why. Suddenly he caught the cat strongly, the cat was afraid of him and bit hishand so the man took his knife and cut out one of its eyes. He was deeply sorry and the cat ran away when he went too close. It didn’t love him anymore. At first the man was very sad but then he startedto feel angry so he caught the cat and hung it by his neck from a tree until it was dead. That night he woke up and his house was burning, the next morning there was nothing left of the building, allthe wall fell down during the night except one. Suddenly he saw a black shape in the white plaster of the wall, the shape of the cat hanging by its neck. He was horrified. He thought that someone cutthe dead cat from the tree and threw it through the window to try to wake him. Then when the cat burned left its shape on the wall. He couldn’t forget the black shape for months and he started tolook for another black cat. One night he founded it in the dark an dirty drinking-house. It looked like Pluto but it had a white shape on its front. It was very friendly and it followed him to his houseand stayed with him. Later he began to dislike the animal, He wanted to murder it but he didn’t because remembered Pluto and because he was afraid of the animal and that feeling became in horror. Afew more weeks later the man saw that the cat’s shape was changing, that was the shape of the gallows. He became in a different man, he hated everyone even his wife.
