Ways to Go Green

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the greenhouse emissions have increased by 70% between 1970 and 2004 and would rinse another 25 to 90% by 2030. Nowadays pollution has become one of the main problems in our growing society.There are many problems pollution causes, not only to the ecosystems and to our health, but also to the economy. Green movements have increased in a considerable rate in the last years and now it is easier to find ways to help our environment just by taking some actions. Taking actions to protect our environment is called ‘to go green’. This subject has caused controversy in economics and politics,making governments act in different ways to help solve the problem. The reasons to go green and the actions to be taken to become a green person will be later discussed.
Many people do not know the benefits that green actions in our daily life bring. In his article called ‘Top 5 Reasons to Go Green Besides Climate Change’, Haresh Daswani says that there are several practical reasons to gogreen at home, he states that going green is not only good for the environment, but also for our direct benefit as well. The energy saving is a good example because electricity is one of the most expensive services, saving it will help us save money as well. Earning money from recycling old stuff is another good reason to go green; taking out things we have been keeping for many years in ourstorage might give us some money. Plants are vital in helping cool our place, they also help produce oxygen from the carbon dioxide we exhale. Putting plants at home means bringing back the interdependence in nature that we need urgently.

There are many other reasons to become green, like David Toomey explains in his article ‘The Top Ten Reasons for You to Go Green’. The author talks about theimportance to go green looking at it as a way to fight against the climate change; he also affirms it is good to teach the little kids the green culture to make it a culture of the future. He suggests a couple of actions to take that will give us good reasons to do them. Tele-work from home is a good way to reduce our driving, the less we drive, the less traffic and pollution there will be. Feelingand looking good depends on what we put into our body and what we do with our body. If we eat good food, we will feel and look good, it is simple. Eating well is also usually good for the environment, less red meat, less packaging, and more in-season and local foods are good for our health and the environment. Getting away from the TV and enjoying what the Mother Nature has to offer is a good wayto spend more time with the family.
Both Haresh Daswani and David Toomey talk about similar reasons to go green. Haresh Daswani focuses more on the reasons of saving money and David Toomey focuses only on the environmental reasons. Even though similar reasons to go green are discussed, there are different points of view about this subject.
Several ways to help our environment arewell know nowadays. Haresh Daswani tells that there might be selfish people that do not think of others, but if those people think about themselves and the persons they love, going green is just as important anyways. In his article the author gives very clear examples of ways to go green in the daily life, he proposes a couple of little changes to make it happen. For example, planting a tree at homewill absorb great amount of carbon dioxide produced by industry. Recycling is another good way to go green; it does not just make you earn some bucks, but it also means that the product will be constantly utilized, reducing its carbon footprint based on the carbon lifecycle system.
