Women in ancient Greece

We are going to talk about the role of the women through Greece history from the perspective ofcontemporary man.
The Greek woman was educated from childhood to serve man. Since the age of 14 years, they were forced into marriage.
Because Greek woman never received study, she completely devotedto housework. Sons of marriage were trained to be soldiers in the country. While the daughters were educated to be wives like his mother. Men should retain women because they were consideredpossession.
In Greece women were not used to exit except to fetch water or visit another woman's house. The men were in charge of purchases and all family issues, hoping that women stay at home and maintainorder. Besides cooking and cleaning Greek women should knit clothes whole family.
From the day of birth until his death, a woman from the former Greece lived under the control of men. His father, hisbrothers even their sons made ​​decisions that altered his life. Women could not vote not have a public job, inherit or own property. Not even buy something that cost more than a certain price. Howevera woman was totally without power: the house ran and controlled the money family. Some important men like Pericles, listened carefully the advice of their wives.
The duties of rural women'sagricultural work included something like the harvesting of olives and fruit. Since men spent most of their time away from home, the Greek home life was dominated by women. The wife was in charge of childrearing, weaving and sewing the family's clothes. She oversaw the daily running of the house. In an economy based on slavery, the abundance of female slaves were available for cooking, cleaning, and tocarry water from the source. Only households wife poorest performing all duties alone. The male slave responsibilities were for the most part limited to be steward and tutor male children.
