Good morning today we are going to talk about the titanic accident that happened 100 years ago.
On april 10th, 1912, RMS Titanic, known as one of the most luxury boat on America sank in the NorthAtlantic Ocean on April 15th 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her way from Southampton, UK to New York City, US. Causing the deaths of aproximately 1,520 people in one of the deadliestpeacetime maritime disasters in modern history. Titanic carried 2,224 passengers and crew. She lacked enough lifeboats to accommodate all of those aboard. Because of outdated maritime safety regulations,she carried only enough lifeboats for 1,178 people.

Something that was discovered later was that the ship should have had at least 48 emergency boats, instead it only had about 20, less than half,the reason this happened was that the architects who designed the ship wanted the deck to look bigger and people to feel safe, Titanic was called the unsinkable, they said not even God could make itsink.

After this tragic event, safety measures were taken more seriously.
Ships had to follow strictly the new rules for passangers security.
Therefore, a lot of people have trust issues wi left theverything related to cruises.

Before they left Belfast, the crew knew that there were some icebergs in the middle of the path that may cause a collision between the ship and the iceberg, butthey were pretty sure that Titanic was capable of passed through it without any accidents.

The impact that this event caused to the people was really hard to process, they even made a movie and a lotof documentals about it. But when we talk about the lost lives, we refered to the really high class passangers, but what about the employees who worked there?

They were trained to save otherpeople´s lives before their own. Therefore, the mayority of the death victims were them.
Mostly the people who survived where from 1st class, and children from 2nd and 3rd class, also even if in the ship...
