The Basques maintain a language, Euskera, which is not related to any of those around him and is estimated before the entry of the Indo-Europeans, like Celtic. Among the various hypotheses of the origin of Basques one indicates the permanence, at least from the Neolithic to the territory they occupy. The language expresses a specific cultural base that has evolved over time and relationships withother cultures that came to the territory. The most influential was the Roman and the introduction, from her, of Christianity, which replaced the old religion that developed in the lands they occupied Basque speakers in those days. Christianity imposed its ways and masked indigenous cults and deities that were shaping the Basque mythological universe.
