Asian Economy
During the past decades the Asian countries have grown into big economic forces. Some of the top national economies this day are Asian countries. The runner-upsfor strongest Asian economy are called the “Asian tigers” and the emerging economies from this continent are called the “Tiger Cubs”

Let’s compare the three strongest economies in Asia because that comes in the exam.
China: One party government (CommunistParty) with an increasingly liberalized economy.
India: Democratic government with a socialist approach to economics.
Japan: Capitalist government closely allied with the US after WWII, especially for development aims, kept a low profile in international and political affairs.

The First andSecond gaggles are the times in the economic history of Asia that the leading country, which was both times Japan, messed up. Here is a chart straight out of the teacher’s ppt describing the events that took place during each gaggle, enjoy!

The greatest period for Japan’s economic growth was since the end of WWII up to the 1990’s. The 80’s was a greater period of development for Southeast Asia.
Wecan now learn more about Japan, since it seems to be so important to Asian economy. Let’s take a look at Japan’s advantages and disadvantages:
Advantages: Regional development for economic integration. Production network through East Asia focused on manufacturing. Japan uses foreign aid as a foreign tool policy. Japan has a mercantilist approach.
Disadvantages: Economic crises stoppeddevelopment. Japan needs to work on dissipating an anti-Western sentiment in the region. Japan has the temptation to act as a self-appointed Asian leader.
