Resumen
La historia de la psicopedagogía no es hoy una disciplina académica en la universidad española,aunque constituye una vía fundamental para el estudio de la construcción social del entorno psicopedagógico. En este contexto,Wilhelm Wundt es el referente indiscutible que aglutina el
avance de las ciencias naturales, el discurso de la filosofía positiva, y la experimentación en psicología fisiológica durante las décadas finales del siglo XIX.Así, este artículo examina tres momentos
de laevolución de la psicología científica. En el primero se examina con James Sully la situación
de la investigación fisiológica anterior a Wundt, y las primeras repercusiones en investigadores
contemporáneos, principalmente británicos, rusos y norteamericanos. En un segundo momento,
el artículo da cuenta del análisis que realiza Lev Semionovich Vigotsky en un escrito de 1921 sobre
el significadohistórico de la crisis de la psicología.Vigotsky analiza la difícil convivencia entre las
diferentes corrientes psicológicas que se iban consolidando conforme avanzaba el nuevo siglo.En
un tercer momento, la referencia es Michel Foucault, quien en 1951 explica cómo se produce la
renuncia a los postulados en que se basaba el proyecto positivista de la primera psicología experimental.Foucaultplanteaba a mediados del siglo XX un examen más riguroso de la realidad humana, basado en la observación de la conducta, la historia y la conciencia del hombre. Por último se
analiza la reciente evolución de la psicología educativa. De manera más o menos explícita, todos
estos procesos contribuyeron al diseño, y, finalmente, a la institucionalización universitaria de la

Abstract
Nowadays the History of Psychopedagogy isnot an academic discipline in Spanish universities,
though it constitutes a fundamental path for the study of the social construction of the
psychopedagogical environment. In this context,Wilhelm Wundt is the indisputable reference
that agglutinates the advance of natural sciences, the speech of positive philosophy, and the
experimentation in physiological psychology during the final decadesof the 19th century.Thus,
this article examines three moments of the evolution of the scientific psychology.The first one
analyses the situation of physiological research previous to Wundt, taking James Sully as a
reference, and the first influences in contemporary researches, especially British, Russian and
North American ones.Then, the article describes the analysis carried out by LevSemionovich
Vigotsky on the historical meaning of the crisis of Psychology in 1921. Vigotsky analyses the
difficult coexistence of the different psychological currents which were consolidated as the new
century was passing by. Then, the reference is Michel Foucault, who in 1951
explained the rejection of the postulates which determined the positivist project of the first
experimental psychology.Foucault stated, around the middle of the 20th century, a more
rigorous study of human reality based on the observation of man's conduct, history and
conscience. Finally, the recent evolution of educational psychology is presented. All these
processes contributed more or less explicitely to the design and, finally, to the university
institutionalization of the psychopedagogical speciality....
