In the first century Rome had a balanced government. Rome had twoofficials called the consuls, they commanded the army and directed the government, but their power was limited. A consul’s term could only last one year. The senate was the aristocratic branch of thegovernment, legislative and administrative functions in the republic. 300 members were from the upper class of Rome society. The assemblies represented the more democratic side of the government. Thetribal Assembly made laws for common people and elected the tribunes. The republic could appoint a dictator who had absolute power to make laws and command the army.
Honduras Government
The government ofHonduras takes place in framework of the presidential Representative democratic republic. The executive branch is exercised by the president who is both head state and government of the multi-partysystem. The legislative is changes hands by the national congress of Honduras, it has 128 members elected for four years by the proportional representation. The judiciary is an independent form ofgovernment. The constitution delineates mechanisms for amending which include guarantees of a republican form of government. The constitution provides an independent organ the superior electoral tribunal,similarly to the main branches of government, special court for resolution of conflicts between the branches.
