The Effect Of Music On Teenagers
From the beginning of live, the music was there, basically because music is the beautiful sounds that produce the surrounding of human, like the singing of some bird or the sound when u hit a tree with a stick. Everything that surrounds the human that can make sound the human want to copy or imitate. That is why the human created the instruments, to imitate thesound that they heard. Not only that but they create music with that too. They use instrument that need air to make sound or hit, even instrument of string to rag. From here on the music evolve to what we hear now. But how the music evolves to what we hear? How the music that the teenagers hear can affect them? What of that music affect the behavior of the teenagers?
First of all, to understandhow the music affects us now we have to know how music evolves. In the beginning, the music was passed by oral and unfortunately that music is lost. But the Catholic Church, was the stable empire of the time when the Roman Empire was collapsing, they take that place and use the congregational music to unite the divide empire. Alsina, Sesé (2008) affirm that the first person that starts using themusical notation was the “Father Gregorio the Great”. Why is that? Because, the church wants give to the others congregations the music that they created. He created the Gregorian Singing in the religious music but, in the street there was music too, and they called “Motet”. The unions of this two music method create the base of the music in these days.
From that, the music continues hisevolution in the passing centuries. In the Middle Ages after the Gregorian singing, debut some new art they called de “Ars Nova”, this art not only make the music more complicated, but they created the intervals third and sixth to finally do the triads. In the Renaissance with the advance of science and arts, the music advances too. In the 1476 in Rome a guy named Hahn use the creation of Gutenberg, theprinter, to print music score. With this creation, the music was more accessible for everybody because in the middle ages the only ones that can have some music score was the monastery and the riches person. The other thing that happen in that time was the Lutherans Reform, with that reform come the union of the popular profane and religious music in churches that is because Martin Luther wantsthat the people can be united in worship. He uses the profane music and changes the lyrics to psalm.
If in the middle ages and Renaissance the music was complicated in the Baroque get more complicated. In the Baroque the music get more confused harmonically and full of dissonances. The music of Baroque gets more sentimental and symbolic. Here is when the musician of this age created the affectiondoctrine how we know it. They say that to make a happy music u have to use the mayors with a high-pitched sound and faster time, if u wants to do a sad music use the minor keys with low pitched sound, have dissonances and play it in slow time. Other thing that u can do is play long notes to the sad music and shorter to happy. The baroque break through all establish in the previously age, becausein this age begging the opera and the opera in this age is like the theaters on our times, because u can see all the art in the same place. The other thing that happens in the baroque is the creation of the violin; this instrument was made to get along with the high-pitched voice and melody of humans. Other thing that happens is the creation of concert music and that make base to the instrumentalmusic for this days. Now in Middle and Renaissance Ages the composers and musicians use the organ to create they music, but in Baroque this key instrument open the way for the creation of harpsichord. This instrument use key to activate some picks to rag the string in the box of the instrument. Those two instruments open the way for the future creation of the piano in romanticism.
