The Monster I Become (Based on “The Metamorphosis” by F. Kafka)
I had never thought how creepy a common day could be until I experienced a whole physical transformation that ended up with mylife, myself and my surroundings.
One Wednesday morning I woke up later than usual, and the first thought that came into my mind was that I was late to work, so I got panicked. Immediately, a feeling ofworryness invaded me. I had never been late to work in my life as a seller. I must take the seven morning train, and I could not. Suddenly, I noticed that I was no longer myself, since I hadtransformed into a big disgusting insect. In spite of my new repulsive appearance, I did a great effort to move and to get up, but the results were not the ones I expected. I could hardly move. By thatmoment, I had realized I was lying on my back helplessly moving my insect legs in the air. The fact that I was not able to control my new bug body made me feel so bad. I knew I had to attend the officebecause I needed to get some paperwork before leaving the city that Wednesday. I had some clients to visit and arrange some business with them. Besides, it was a pay day and I really needed my check tosupport my father, my sister and my mother’s expenses. Suddenly, my mother came into my room and knocked on the door. I was so terrified that I told her I was late, but I realized my voice was no longerthe same. I could not understand what I was saying, nor my mom. Therefore, my mom opened the door and saw me. She was so shocked that fainted. My father and my sister came upstairs too and got afraidbecause of my new look. As a result, they locked my door and left me in my room alone. Isolation was my only partner and I had plenty of time to think, cry and experience anger. I could not possiblyfind an answer to what had happened. I was just a victim of fate.
