Talking about Pygmalion effect
Most of times when we meet somebody, we can’t avoid emit a criteria about that person, normally based on such unimportant things as physical appearance, age, sex,social position and many others, no matter if this is in school with a classmate, a new neighbor, in our job place or in the street, we are knowing people and inter-ralationing them every single day, asa consequence or as a requirement many times, we need to evaluate and label somebody at first sight because we are trying to avoid any risk that can arise and injure our integrity, but we incur inthis mistake not just as a protection mechanism, actually, we are customized to judge people before know them as a popular practice and in most of the cases after a short time we found that we are wrongand discover that appearances can be deceptives, but, have you ever asked to your self, What if my expectation about other people will have any influence in their attitude? Does exist good performanceor bad performance, or it is just something that we force while we are emitting our criteria? Well, maybe both opinion are acceptable, because we need to recognize that not everybody is going to havethe same ability or capacity and as a consequence we ca get different outcome from each person, but it is not about capacity, it is about reaction in front an induced behavior and there is where wecan find the clue, when we establish a previous image of how a person could be or could behave, we are influencing that behavior to come true, but in this particular case we are making reference to therelationship between teachers and students and the way in which they connect their attitude with their results and here is where we find many important aspects, when I meet a new student or studentsgroup, I can’t avoid notice about their attitude and physical appearance and unconsciously create an expectation about how good or bad they could be, probably it will change my teaching way...
