ABORTION: A controversial issue




Nowadays abortion has left to be a taboo, it is something which started long time ago and it has increased so much. Today, many methods are practicedeverywhere and those methods change according to the pregnancy week, one method is not necessary better than the other, they just are less dangerous.


There are lots of opinions about this topic, thereare people who are agree, people who are not agree and people who are in an intermediate position, but is important not let that media influence our life and our opinion about abortion. Embryo can beconsidering an individual person since the moment of the fecundation? Many people believe that the embryo become in a person until certain moment on its develop; but something which nobody can deny isthat since its conception, the embryo has a biological reality which is independent and definite, embryo is development in an autonomous way, it has its genetic information since the moment ofconception.


Abortion corresponds to an intentional or not ends of a pregnancy; there are many positions about the morality of abortion: first, people who promote the respect for live and consider thatabortion is immoral; second, people who promote the respect for autonomy and person’s well-being seeing abortion as an alternative totally moral; third, people who are conservative and think that thefetus has a moral status and people must recognized their rights, some of them think that there is not a reason to justify abortion and other think that it could be possible just if there is an ectopicpregnancy or an womb with cancer; fourth, people who are liberal and think that fetus doesn’t have a moral status it is not biologically human so abortion is not a homicide, also they think that thewoman’s autonomy and her rights to control her body are more important than the fetus’ moral status; and finally, the religion which get worry about the baby, the mother and the society.
