1) Discuss the main reasons why Europeans were interested in African continent.
Why do you think a country like China is interested in Sub-Saharan Africa?
Europeans wereinterested in Africa, because the richness of the continent, they have mines, land and nature, and they have everything that Europe is missing, but Africa can take advantage of that, because they don’thave the resources and technology to exploit the full potential of the country, and the Europeans can afford that, they have the most important diamond mines, one of the most valuable mineral in theearth.
China is interested in Sub-Sahara Africa, because their need of raw material as oil and natural gas, and it is in Africa were China sees the opportunity were they can grow their big potential as acountry and they know that Africa has everything they needed.
I believe the other countries are scared of the introduction of china in Africa that would be one scary thing, which anyone wants tosee.
2) You are a businessman eager to set up a agribusiness farm/firm in any of the Sub-
African countries. Discuss the main obstacles that you envisage to encounter
when you are trying to do so. Howwould you go about solving these problems?
I guess Africa is a country of opportunities and some people are realizing this, it the pends of the point of view of the people.
There it’s a story herein Mexico about two entrepreneurs who want to make business in Africa in the shoe business area.
The first one went to Africa and realized that anyone are wearing shoes, then he sadly came back homebecause there were no market for him because no one is wearing shoes.
The second one wen to Africa and realized the same thing no one is wearing shoes, but this one became very happy, because of thecause that anyone is wearing shoes, so he immediately call his business partner to tell him the big market they have because no one is wearing shoes, so they must hurry to install the factory there...
