Afroamerican Racism

Racism is the belief that inherent different traits in human racial groups justify discrimination. In the modern English language, the term "racism" is used predominantly as a pejorative epithet. Itis applied especially to the practice or advocacy of racial discrimination which harms particular groups of people, and which is often justified by recourse to racial stereotyping.
Racism isinfluenced by several factors, such as religion, customs, geographical regions and skin color. It is a problem that cannot be easily solved to its many years of prevailing worldwide, although first ways ofracism were slightly different from today. It was promoted by philosophers and books, rather than actions and propaganda. We may want to remember, though, that in the beginning white people werediscrimined as well, especially by arabs and darker-skinned people.
At colonial times, white people were started to be considered to have blue blood, and therefore to be superior than the africans theywould use as slaves. Since this empire’s beliefs were widely spread over the world, that prejudice against africans was spread as well.
