* Old Major: is a prize winning boar (pig). He is the one that inspires the Rebellion. He taught them the song“Beasts of England.” When he dies, he leaves Snowball and Napoleon fighting for the control. This character is based on Karl Marx and Vladimir Ilych Lenin.
* Boxer – a cart horse. He shows devotion toAnimal Farm. Always trusts the pigs' decisions.
* Napoleon – a pig that emerges after the Rebellion like a leader. This character is based on Joseph Stalin.
* Snowball – a pig that isNapoleon's opposite way of thinking. Confronts Napoleon for the control of the Animal Farm. Based on Leon Trotsky.
* Clover – female cart-horse (mare) and Boxer's close friend. She suspects that the pigsare changing the Seven Commandments, but in the end she says that she doesn't remember well what it said.
* Benjamin – a donkey. Is the only that is doesn't inspired by the Rebellion.
* Mr.Jones – a farmer that was the owner of Manor Farm (before the animals took it). Is cruel to his animals, not giving them food, that why the Rebellion started.
* Squealer - is a pig. Napoleon'shelper, he spreads napoleon's words to the other animals. He makes false statistics about the farm success.

Thestory begins with Old Major telling the other animals that he had a dream about the animals being free. He tells them, that they have to work for that ideal and he teaches them a song called “Beasts ofEngland.” Three days after that he dies. Snowball and Napoleon make their own philosophy about Animalism. That night they fight the farmer and run him off the land. Later the farmer tries to take...
