Introduction

This project is about the Culture and Traditions of Argentina. It talks about their traditions, religion, family, education and its cultural symbols. This is part of “A Trip AroundThe World” that celebrates Cultures’ Month in our school.

Culture and Traditions of Argentina

Education
There are 36 state (public) and 48 private universities. Public universities are free.Etiquette
Both men and women greet each other by kissing on the cheek. In very formal encounters men and women shake hands. People address each other with the colloquial form vos.
Marriage, familyand kinship
Small families of one or two children are the norm. Sons and daughters often stay with their parents until they are well into their twenties or until they marry.
Argentineans’ culturalsymbols
Argentineans’ cultural symbols are football and tango, probably the two strongest symbols of a common national identity. Tango refers to the music.

Religion
A majority of the populationof Argentina is nominally Christian. Catholic 77.1%, No religion 15.9%, Protestant, Evangelical and other Christian 4.8%, other 2.1%. Jews account for less than 1% of Argentina's population, and BuenosAires has the second largest population of Jews in the Americas. Argentina also has the largest Muslim minority in America.

Traditions
Argentina has national, annual holidays and celebrationfestivities that are important to its culture. Argentina citizens celebrate New Year on the first of January. This holiday involves a family dinner followed by a midnight display of fireworks.Argentineans celebrate El Carnaval del Pais, which is extremely similar to Mardi Gras. This massive celebration features live performances of all types. They also have a Holy Week before Easter.
Dia de lasMalvinas is a military holiday; Labor Day falls on May 1st; Revolucion de Maya has to do with their independence from Spain in 1810. The actual Independence Day is held on July 9th. They also...
