Carles Puyol Saforcada, better known as simply Puyol, was born in Puebla de Segur, Lleida, Spain, April 13,1978 is a Spanish footballer.
Play defense and belongs to FC Barcelona, which is currently club captain.

He has developed hiscareer in the F. C. Barcelona, which came in the 1995-1996 season to join their ranks.
Among his most recognized highlights distinctions have been chosen asthe best defense of the Champions League of UEFA in 2006 and holds the record for being selected five-time dream team of UEFA in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008 and2009. It has also been included in the Team of the Year by FIFPro for two consecutive years: 2007 and 2008. He was selected by The Sun as one of the top fourdefenses of the decade in 2009 and FIFA has selected three times to be part of your dream team after Euro 2008, Confederations Cup 2009 and the Cup WorldCup 2010.
In 2009, Puyol became the first captain in the history of FC Barcelona in raising six shots in the same year (Liga, Copa, Spain Super Cup,Champions League, European Supercup and World Club Cup).
