Compare Jane And Elizabeth Bennet
In the novel the two sisters are always together. Moreover, they are not only sisters but goodfriends too.
Jane Austen choose these two members of the family to star her book. The other three girls are very shortly mentioned. We are totally sumerged in Elizabeth´s life and thoughts, wich aremostly directed towards Jane. Because of that, we can see how the two sisters are quite different.
On one hand, Jane is considered the most beautiful of the sisters. She is blond, which is veryappreciated in the epoque she belongs to . She has fine and delicate features. I imagine her as the archetype of attractive woman. On the other hand, Elizabeth has a different kind of beauty, the mostoutstanding feature are her eyes, she has really nice and expressive eyes. She is a nice girl, but compared with her eldest sister she goes unnoticed.
Jane is sawn as the beautiful one, whileElizabeth is the smarter daughter with strong personality and she is her father´s favorite one meanwhile the rest of the family like Jane better. Moreover, she has a quick tongue.It is obvious in the book,that Jane is more devoted to increase her faculties as a woman, like for example, sewing, caring of the family and looking for a husband, but Elizabeth likes to read books or argue in order to developher knowledge.
Lizzy often does little jokes with her father excluding her sisters and mother. Mr. Bennet gives her advices because he believes that his favorite gaughter is more wiser andsensible than the others. Sometimes Lizzy is ashamed of her siblings and mother by their ridiculous behaviour.
Another remarkable fact is that the eldest sister admires people very easily and is much moretrustful than Elizabeth. The latter is susceptible to create wrong opinion about people with her first impression of them. Jane is like an innocent child that believes ever the better about...
