P: Good morning! We are going to talk about Saint Patrick’s Day…
J: It is celebrated annually on March 17 to commemorate the death of St. Patrick
R: This date ischaracteristic for the many parades that take place very popular in several countries, notably Ireland and the United States
P: Noting the large impact that generated this festival,since 1996 the Irish government began a massive way to remember this saint
J: exploiting the full potential it generates, using the typical symbols of Ireland. Year afteryear the celebration is more and more lasting, extending up to 5 days of pure celebration, color and joy
R: But beyond the festival, we present four elements related to thedate associated with each other: the Leprechaun, beer and clover with the patron saint of Ireland
P: Clothes: Originally, the color associated with Saint Patrick was blue.Over the years the color green and its association with Saint Patrick's day grew
J: Green ribbons and shamrocks were worn in celebration of St Patrick's Day as early as the17th century
R: Saint Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish
P: and the wearing and display ofshamrocks and shamrock-inspired designs have become a ubiquitous feature of the day
J: In the 1798 rebellion, to make a political statement, Irish soldiers wore full green uniformson 17 March in hopes of catching public attention
R: The phrase "the wearing of the green", meaning to wear a shamrock on one's clothing, derives from a song of the samename
P: Food: that day the people eat marmitaco and Irish Back
J: to beers like the Heineken or Guinness and beef stew
R: to stuffed potatoes and Bread Pudding…thanks!
