MICRO PLAN. LISTENING LESSON.
“Let’s Listen.” Stage II.
Activity 2
➢ Objective of the LC (listening classroom) lesson: The aim of the following listeningactivity is that my students identify the language features characteristic of speech in different settings.
➢ Type of task: Performing physical tasks:
• Identification and selection(matching dialogues and pictures).
• Performing other actions (acting out a dialogue).
• Reformulating and evaluating information (writing dialogues).
➢ Resources: Book or copy, tape, tape recorder,some pieces of clothing.
➢ Expected output:
PROCEDURES, ASSIGNMENTS AND TIME.
Pre- listening activity.
Procedure: I will first tell students to look at thepictures and make sure they understand the situation in each by asking questions.
Assignment: Look at the pictures and discuss where the people in the pictures are. What do you think they are doing?Time: Ten minutes.
While- listening activity.
Procedure : After that, I will play the tape, twice if necessary. Then, I will instruct them to listen to the tape and matchthe pictures to the dialogues making it clear that four pictures do not have the corresponding dialogues.
Assignment: Listen to the tape and match the dialogues with the pictures. There aretwelve pictures in your book but you will only hear eight different conversations.
Time: Fifteen minutes.
Feedback Section.
Procedure: I will check that the matchings arecorrect and show them how successfully they performed the task.
Assignment: Check the matchings.
Time: Five minutes.
Post- listening activity.
Procedure : I will askthem to do a written activity in pairs.
Assignment: Choose one of the remaining pictures and write a short dialogue in pairs.
Time: Fifteen minutes.
