1.1 The company
Identity Cars is a Galician automotive brand. This brand was created in 2005 and its propose involves the creation of a luxury sports car fully customized based on the following aspects:
- The will of the society towards differentiation is becoming more pronounced.
- There are niches in the market of vehicles which collected almost all needs ofvirtually all social spectrum, exceeding the simple definition of vehicle for transportation.
- It exists a number of affluent customers who seek differentiation through their vehicle.
Within this group there are two types of vehicle:
a) Established brands with high production (Porsche, Ferrari, ,Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Mercedes-Benz AMG, BMW M…)
b) Artisan builders (Spyker, Marcos,Pagani, TRV…)
-There are brands that satisfy the customer through high priced and very exclusive products. However, not even the artisan builders get a completely unique product offering.
- IDENTITY reflects the demands of a narrow group of high net worth clients that are looking to differentiate as much as possible, coming to have something no one else has, a unique sports car in the world andcollectibles.
1.2 The first model. Identity i1
The first model from the brand, a one-off production, was presented at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show and revealed the company’s creative and technological capacity to the international market.
Its design consolidated Identity as a sound company with experience in the production of high-luxury and fully-personalised automobiles.IDENTITY I1: Specifications

1.3 The second model. Identity Y2
This is the second model of the company, and the last till now. This car was presented in the Top Marques of Monaco in March, 2011.
The vehicle presented was only a circulating prototype, since the final model is still under development.The chassis is a hybrid space frame structure made from aluminum and carbon fiber using aeronautical technology and applying knowledge from the world of competition to achieve maximum optimization in terms of dynamic efficiency and to guarantee the solid, strong and lightweight nature of the structure.
It is scheduled to go on sale in mid-2012

2 - Introduction
2.1 Objectives
The main objective of this project is to analyze the aerodynamics of Identity Y2 base model, later will be modified into a model that can participate in GT3. To do this we must take into account the technical regulations for the category.
We will work towards improving the vehicle'saerodynamic values, it means, increasing downforce, reducing drag, and achieving a proper balance so that the car doesn't become undriveable.
To carry out thist project we will use two softwares: CATIA V5 and Star CCM+.
2.2 Requirements
The requiriments set for the achievement of this project are:
