Galaxy v1.0 (Readme)

Requirements
•A computer with an available USB port •A USB cable to connect your PSP to your computer •A PSP with Firmware 2.71 or higher (custom works too) •A Memory Stick for your PSP with at least 6.7 MB of free space

Installation and Start-Up
1. Download the ZIP archive of the portal. 2. Unzip the le (if you are reading this readme you have alreadydone steps 1 & 2). 3. Connect your PSP to your computer. 4. Select “USB Connection” under “Settings” on your PSP’s XMB. 5. Copy the “galaxy” folder to “PSP/COMMON” on your PSP’s memory stick. Copy the “psptunes” folder to the root of your memory stick (the root is the rst level of the memory stick, not to be confused with MP_ROOT). 6. You may now disconnect your PSP from your computer. 7. Openyour PSP’s internet browser. 8. Once opened, go the address entry section of the browser. 9. Type “ le:/psp/common/galaxy/portal.html” without the quotes and then click “Enter” or press the Start button. 10. If you are asked to run the embedded plugin, choose “Yes.” This simply means you are allowing the ash content to display on the page. 11. After Galaxy’s intro plays, you will be redirected tomain portal screen. Congratulations, you now are running Galaxy! If you need more help, please refer to the “Usage” section of this readme le.

Usage
Galaxy has many great features that you can use. In this section, you will learn what they do and how to use them. Games Obviously, this section has ash games for you to play. Eight are included. Just click on the icon of the game you would like toplay and it will load within Galaxy. You may also load any other ash game stored on your memory stick straight into Galaxy, and it will run just as if it was one of the default games. Please refer to the section called “Loading External Games and Apps” for instructions on how to do this. Apps Galaxy comes with eight applications that you can use. Just click the icon of the app you would like torun and it will load within the portal, just like a game would. To load your own app, please refer to “Loading External Games and Apps.” Instant Messaging Galaxy utilizes the Ebuddy instant messaging service to allow you to chat with all your friends on AIM, MSN, Gtalk, and Yahoo. Simply click the instant messaging icon to get started. Once you click that, you will see two options, “Standard EbuddyChat” and “Ebuddy PSP.” “Standard Ebuddy Chat” is the chat that is used by mobile phones, PDA’s etc. while “Ebuddy PSP” is made for the PSP. It doesn’t matter which one you use, although you may get a little faster performance using the standard one. *A wireless internet connection is required for instant messaging Links Galaxy also has various links to sites that you might be interested invisiting. Just click on the site you would like to visit, and it will open in a new tab in your PSP’s web browser. A link to your own personal bookmarks, stored on your PSP’s memory stick, is also included. Wallpapers Galaxy comes with eight stunning wallpapers that you can use. You can also use any PNG image le stored on your memory stick as a wallpaper. To set an image as wallpaper, simply click onthe image thumbnail. It will open in a new tab. Then press Triangle, choose the option farthest to the left (File), and select “Save Image.” Then save it in “PSP/ COMMON/galaxy/wallpapers” with the name “default.png”. To use your own wallpaper, simply open it with the built in le browser and then follow the same procedures listed above.

Loading External Games and Apps Galaxy allows you to loadany game or application on your memory stick straight into the portal, just as if it was one of the default games or apps. To do this, simply click on Games or Apps. Then click the “Select” button, browse for your le, then press X when you have found it. Then click “Open Game/App in Galaxy” and it will load in the frame just like the default games and applications. Showing and Quitting Games and...
