Michelangelo Buonarroti
Michelangelo was an artist, actually considered one of the greatest artists ever. He had lot of talents, he was sculptor, painter, architect andpoet. He was the representant of the Renaissance, the “Sistine Chapel” and “The David” are two of his most known creations.
Buonarroti borned on March 6th, 1475 in the townof Caprese; Caprese is a little center of the Tiberino valley , his father Ludovico de Leonardo de Buonarroto Simoni worked in the government of Florencia. His biggest wishwas to be buried in Florencia in the church if Santa Crose, and it was granted.
Since he was a child everybody could appreciate his adoration for the art. When he was 13 herecived formal education from the painters Domenico Ghirandaio and Bertoldo di Giovanni. In 1496 he moved to Rome and one of his first major assignments was on thewell-known Pietá in St- Peter’s Bacilica in 1501. Back in Florence Michelangelo creates one of his most known masterpieces “The David” that know is something historical. After 4years of having created “The David” Pope Julius II commissioned him the decoration of the ceiling in the Sistine Chapel, his preference for the strong and muscular figures wastypical in his creations. He painted the ceiling during four years, he didn’t paint much until 1536, when he painted the back wall of the Sistine Chapel, this work wascompletely finished in 1541.
I admire him because in my opinion he is the greatest painter that could exist, is like a model for me, because I love this kind of art, the onlyexception is that I prefer the simpler paintings, but the way he painted was wonderful, he used to create things as well he could and I would love to be like him one day.
