The allegory of the cave also known as Plato’s Cave is an analysis about how we are, how we respond to different situations and different habits. In other wordstry to explain to us our nature, our essence.
The shadows, chains and flames.
Plato said the people inside the cave saw shadows whit chain passing around flames, and that were as close as theprisoners get to a “reality”. But, what is the reason and what is the meaning? In my opinion the shadows crossing the flames only were a fake reality that they had because they were closed and withoutinteraction in a society. They saw shadows and a fictional reality due to the need to go to a larger space and different. An example of this kind of situation is the novel “The shining” by Stephen Kingpublished in 1977, in where the characters are living in a hotel for 5 months without interaction with other people, they started to see things like people that wasn’t there, and the mind of the mancollapse and became a mad man. In the text Plato said the philosopher is the one who is freed from the cave, and try to understand the life outside, he start to compare the real reality with the shadows they saw and realizethat the sun shines were what produced the shadows and flames. Release from the Cave.
The release fromthe Cave is just the comparison with change your life, I mean if you all your life were living under the darkness, around bad things and follow the rules of a fake reality and you have the chance toget out there you must take the knowledge about the right things, a true reality and understand the real meaning of some events.
