I Selected this character because in the early days of my career I read a book by David Ogilvy which inspired me for what I love, andthat is advertising. Ogilvy is one of the most famous names in advertising and one of the few thinkers who shaped the business after the twenties.

David Ogilvy was throughout his life a cook, salesman, diplomat and farmer. He worked as an apprentice chef at the Hotel Majestic in Paris and after, sold cooking stoves door to door for the Aga brand, for which he developed when 24 a publication-Thetheory and practice of How to sell the Kitchen Aga. It was a guide for door to door sellers and was considered by Fortune the best sales manual ever written, because of its "conciseness and accuracy."

Ogilvy & Mather was built on a set of clearly defined principles which reflect the views of its founder. David developed these principles early in his career and never wavered from them. Healways believed that the function of advertising is to sell, and it is possible to determine the sales techniques that are more likely to be produced. From his legacy ,we could not fail to mention his views on the future of advertising which he predicted would be the customer who would choose for themselves what they want to see and that the success of this advertising would be focused and centeredaround services and products of entertainment which added the ability to share products and information in exchange for receiving advertising messages. David Ogilvy was also the author of three books, "Confessions of an Advertising Man" (1963), "Blood, Brains & Beer" (1978) and "Ogilvy on Advertising" that provide the basic principles of modern advertising.
In 1948, David Ogilvy now 38,founded the agency that would become Ogilvy & Mather. Starting with no clients and only two persons, he built his company into one of the eight largest agency networks, and one of the most respected. Today it has 497 offices in 125 countries.
