In
1942
Cristobal
Colon
discovered
what
now
is
Bahamas.
In
the
17th
century
the
Dutch,
French
and
English
started
to
claim
the
land
of
what
its
now
USA.
They
killed all
the
inhabitants
that
lived
here
either
by
killing
their
food
or
by
bringing
new
diseases
that
inhabitants
could
not withstand.
These
countries
started
to
move
around
USA
and
they
realised
that
down
in
the
south
it
was
a
very
good area
to
grow
crops,
so
what
they
now
did
was
to
bring
African
slaves
to
work
in
the
land.
This
created
conflicts between
the
North
(where
they
did
not
use
slaves)
and
the
South
(that
did
use
slaves),
after
a
war
slave
trade
was abolished
in
1865.
From
that
point
onwards
USA
started
to
become
more
powerful.
At
the
start
of
the
20th
century or
as
sometimes
referred
to
American
Century
didn’t
have
a
great
start.
A
war
that
had
been
growing
in
Europe
for decades
started
in
which
Americans
at
the
end
where
involved.
After
the
Great
War
in
1920
it
was
a
period
of austerity,
which
ended
with
the
Wall
Street
Crash
in
the1929.

next
decade
was
a
period
of
recovery
and
the
