Jamaica is a little island next to Cuba, its capital and largest city is Kingston. Jamaica´s population is 2,496,000 persons and its main industries are theagriculture;banana,Tabaco,citricfurits,cacao,coffe,coco,corn,hay,pepper,ginger,mango,potato,arrurruz and sugar cane, they also specialize in the tourism and in the minery. The main cities are Kingston, Montego bay, St Ann’s Bay,Black river and Santa Cruz.Jamaica’s main places are The Blue Mountains, Port Royal,The Doctor’s Cave beach, Negril beach,Ocho Rios and Rose Hall great house;it’s a 200 yearold mansion, it was theresidence of annie palmer, the “white witch of rose hall”
A very important Jamaican is the musician Bob Marley. Robert Nesta Marley was born in February 6 of 1945 in ST Ann’s-Jamaica and he died in May11 of 1981 in Miami-USA. He is the principal representative of the reggae gender with songs like one love, no woman no cry… etc. Bob Marley´s mom was Cedella Boork, an African teenager who settleddown in Jamaica, and his dad was Norval Marley a captain of the British army, he run away and never had contact with bob. When bob Marley was born, his parents were 18 (mom) and 50 (dad) years old. Bobspent most of his childhood in the poorest neighborhoods of Kingston. His life was very influenced by the Rastafarian religion, in the meetings he met his BFF Neville O'Riley Livingstone (Bunny) andPeter McIntosh , together they started to play music, in 1963 they formed a band called the “Wailing Wailers” they firs single go very fast to the top in Jamaica’s music lists. In 1996 Marley getmarried with Rita Anderson. With Bunny and Peter, Bob form a new band called “The Wailers” because the spirituality that they songs had, it was very difficult to find a manager.
