We are are currently organizing our 39th exhibition and all the participating artists are keeping us busy. We currently have two artists in residence: one from New Zealand and one from Malaysia. This is our 119th artists in residence. The cost of the residency is usually covered by their corresponding government since chinadoesn't offer any subsidies for any residency program. The cost vary between 300 & 400USD per week depending on the location of the residency: downtown or uptown. We have one apartment and one villa for the artists. We already accommodated up to to twelve artists by getting an additional apartment. All artist have their own bed, bathroom and their share of studio space to complete their work. Allartists are expected to participate in our monthly exhibition but the selection is based on merit and hardwork. A monthly report before the end of each month describing the work in progress is to be presented to our jury. Usually in the form of a blog. Resident artists receive weekly critics from outside curators and gallerists. All artists are expected to produce artworks during theirresidencies. Your project look both professional and interesting and Yiwu is an interesting young city. In theory, we'd be honored to have you in our program but the best would be for you to come in December and meet to talk more about your proposed project. We will then issue the necessary invitations so you can start your fundraising hunt with the Generalitat.
