Exploration: Learning Activities

*We begin this topic with an inspection.
1. - What do you understand by force? R= La fuerza es una magnitud vectorial que mide la intensidad del intercambio de momento lineal entre dos partículas o sistemas de partículas. Según unadefinición clásica, fuerza es todo agente capaz de modificar la cantidad de movimiento o la forma de los materiales.

2. - A girl that weighs 50 kg stands on two scales, with a foot on each, as shown in the picture:
-How much will each scale mark, and why? R= En miopinión deberían marcar lo mismo pues su peso o su fuerza hacia abajo es la misma en cualquier pie. Además al igual que el peso su masa no cambia.

-What if you rest more weigh on one foot that the other? R= Marcará más en un pie que en otro pues está aplicando más fuerza a la bascula.

-Whyis that? R= Ya mencionado anteriormente, porque esta aplicando más fuerza en un pie que en otro.

3. - Here on Earth, a person has a mass of 80 kg what would happen to that mass, if the person will be on the surfaceof the Moon? R=No debería pasar, la masa no sufrirá ningún cambio´, lo que cambia es la gravedad y el peso.

4. - If a truck accelerates from rest, a passenger on the same vehicle tends to fall backwards, why and if braked the passengertends to fall forward why? R= Porque todos los cuerpos tienen inercia, como se explica en la Primera Ley de Newton.

5. - A ball that rolls along the floor, it does not continue running indefinitely, but stops after a time, why? This is because, as Aristotle said, the natural stateof the ball is to rest, or because, as Newton said, there is a force that acts on it if so, how would you describe such a force? R= En mi opinión, la describiría como una fuerza necesaria para hacer rodar la pelota, pero no la suficiente como para las fuerzas exteriores que hacen que se detenga, (ninguna fuerza puede mantener a un objeto en movimiento, a menos que la fuerza sea constante).

6. -If an archer throws horizontally an arrow on the surface of Earth and also do so on the moon. How would the movement be in both places? Equal or different. Why? What differences or similarities would it have? R= Sería diferente pues la fuerza de gravedad que actúa sobre la flecha es mucho menor en la luna, , por lo que, por lo que al caer caerá mucho más lento y la única igualdad es que tarde otemprano esta caerá.


7. - If the archer launches the arrow in a place where there is on gravitational action, how is that would the movement of the arrow be? R= Ya que no hay ninguna fuerza que actué sobre ella, la flecha seguirá moviéndoseindefinidamente.


8. - What do you understand by inertia? Make one description of this concept whit an example. R= La inercia es la propiedad que tienen los cuerpos de permanecer en su estado de reposo o movimiento o la resistencia que tienen a cambiar su estado de movimiento o reposo.
