RESUMEN:La investigación pretendía observar la incidencia de un entrenamiento adicional a niños que, según los criterios oficiales de evaluación, son reprobados en el área de matemáticas. Se partió del siguiente problema: ¿En qué medida niños de ambos sexos que cursan primero elemental en una escuela oficial y que, según los criterios de evaluación empleados, van perdiendo matemáticas, sin que por ellohayan sido enviados a aulas de nivelación, con un entrenamiento adicional, podrán recuperar dicha materia en términos de ejecución, antes o después de una prueba de área? Con base en el problema se planteó la siguiente hipótesis: Si se da un entrenamiento adicional a niños de ambos sexos que cursen primero elemental en una escuela oficial y que durante el transcurso del año hayan tenido bajorendimiento académico en el área de las matemáticas, entonces estos sujetos lograrán recuperar esta materia aprobando una evaluación diseñada sobre el currículo vigente.

Para ello se utilizó un diseño experimental con grupo control, haciendo una medición de los sujetos antes del entrenamiento y otra después del mismo. Para seleccionar la muestra, cuyo tamaño fue de 48 sujetos de ambos sexos, se tuvo encuenta el bajo rendimiento académico en el área de matemáticas, con un promedio inferior a tres cero.

El instrumento constó de: hojas de ejercicios presentados al concluir un tema, lápices, colores, tableros, tiza, borrador, pupitres y material manipulable como tapas, fichas con números, figuras en cartón, paja y otros materiales disponibles en el aula. Se verificó la validez de las pruebas. Unavez seleccionada la muestra se realizó juegos, cantos y rondas, con el fin de entablar una buena relación entre niños y entrenadores. Luego se aplicó la prueba de matemáticas, dando las instrucciones en forma verbal, para cada ejercicio.


ABSTRACT: The investigation tried to observe the incidence of an additional training to children who, according to the official criteria of evaluation, arefailing in the area of mathematics. It started from the following problem: ¿To what extent, children of both sexes that attend first grade in an official school and that according to the used criteria of evaluation are failing mathematics, without having been sent to the leveling classrooms for that reason, with an additional training will they be able to recover this subject in terms of execution,before or after a subject test? Based on this problem, the following hypothesis was considered: If an additional training is given to children of both sexes that attend first grade in an official school and that during the course of the year they have had under academic yield in the area of mathematics, then these students could recover this subject passing an evaluation designed on the effectivecurriculum.

For this, an experimental design with control group was used, doing a measurement of the subject before the training and another one after it. In order to select the sample which size was 48 subjects of both sexes, the low academic yield in the area of mathematics was considered, with a lower average to three zero.
