Glosario Lenguaje Y Pensamiento Matematico
Asymptote: A line that a curve approaches but never reaches.
Outline: Introduction to some equation oroperation.
Coefficient: A number used to multiply a variable.
Constant: A fixed value.
Set: A collection of "things" (objects or numbers, etc.).
Correspondence: Relationship or serving channellink, a link or connection between elements.
Quadrant: The part of the plane bounded by the branches of the axes of a system. The coordinate system divides the plane into four regions.
Curve: Aline that flows smoothly (no jerking).
Domain: The set of all possible input values that the function accepts. The output values are called Range.
Axles: A reference line drawn on a chart.Exponent: The exponent of a number shows how many times the number to be used in the multiplication.
Linear function: The graph is a straight line passing through the origin.
Quadraticfunction: It is a real or complex function, defined on the set of natural numbers, which "expresses some property arithmetic function."
Cubic function: It is usually used to relate certain volumes inspace or time.
Exponential function: A function whose domain of definition the set of real numbers, and is unique in that its derivative is the same function.
Graph: A graph that uses pointsconnected by lines to show how the value of something.
Increase: Make bigger quantity.
Incognita: The name given to the unknown element in an equation.
Intersection: The point at which a line orcurve crosses a given axis.
Range: What's between two points.
Literal: Letters that used to represent numbers and perform operations.
Logarithm: A number in a given base is the power to whichthe base must be raised to obtain the number.
Ordinate: The vertical value ("and") in a coordinate pair. How up or down is the point.
Source: The starting point.
Parameter: A value that is...
