Henry Ford and family: American automobile pioneer and industrialist
Introduction
The writer explains that a national newspaper ask her for a work based on the last millennium. Rest of the people who were asked to do this too, chose a character from the beginning of the millennium but she chose Henry Ford, who’s from the last centuries. This isn’t really a big deal, but the editor found thefact that she has chosen a recent character a problem, so the newspaper didn’t publish her article. She felt bad at first, but thinking about what happened she realized that probably the newspaper’ negative was because the actual vision we have about Henry Ford.
People don’t feel like appreciating him so much. For a time, his cars seemed like primitive and his production line unimaginative. HenryFord was rude and uncharismatic and his political and social opinions were contradictory most of the times and were primitive and outrageous. But the fact is that he’s an important character in history, so we can’t only focus in his negative points. He did great things too: the vision of a mass production, personal transport for everyone, and technology developed from that revolution. His strongpersonality, among other things, aloud him to create The Ford Motor Company;
There are enterprises that have an strong and powerful founder that makes the other members look so small, and that can sometimes end in the dissolution of the company. This is the case for example of N.M Rothschild and J.P Morgan. But Ford case was much stronger than those. Even after his death, when the companydiversify and sold a part of the property to strangers, the Ford family continued to be that influent.
Before Henry Ford was born

The first Ford arrived at USA from Ireland in 1832. They were Protestants in a catholic area, so they were in a hostile ambience. Afterwards, they tried to move to the west in order to find something to hang on, to find lands to exploit. The indigenous were almost gone,but there were still some, so the danger existed.
Henrys’ grandparents leaved Ireland in 1847, in the worst situation of potatoes’, when the food couldn’t arrive to Ireland. Anyway, Irish people didn’t have money to pay the food either. But Ford family could escape from that situation, we don’t really know how, but they had the money. When they got to America, they receive borrowed money fromsome member of the family and they invested it in buying lands near to emerging local factories. The Grandes Lagos were getting a useful tool to transport minerals (especially copper) and industrial products.
The Fords’ firstborn was William (Henry’s dad), worked as a carpenter in the railroad company to pay off his family debt.
Summary
This text is written by a journalist, who from his point ofview Henry Ford (July 30, 1863-April 7, 1947) was the main entrepreneur and innovator of the world of the industry, but the director of the newspaper did not share his idea so the article finally was not published.
According to a personal point of view Henry had politic and social opinions fairly contradictory. But if we talk about his market vision, he has been one of the best men of thehistory.
The ford family arrived to the United States of America from Ireland in 1832. This family was a strong family in a quite difficult environment; they were always looking for their opportunity.
The grandparents of Henry left Ireland in 1847 and they moved to America where they established and acquired some lands.
Henry was born in 1863 and because of his father he will be closely tied to thenature world. But one of his main characteristics was that he was very keen on with tools and machines. He always wanted to know how and why the different things worked.
