Antecedentes generales:
Si bien no resulta posible determinar con precisión la aparición y origen del seguro, las investigaciones se refieren a antecedentes en los pueblos de la antigüedad dedicados al comercio y a la navegación.
Aunque faltaban los elementos necesarios para la constitución de la operatoria que muchos siglos después se conociócon el nombre de seguro, esas primeras manifestaciones hacían referencia esencialmente a la solidaridad y fraternidad humana, apuntando a la compensación reciproca de los efectos del daño producido.
