In the United States are about two million children currently learning at home. Homeschooling is becoming more popular every day, with a growth rate of 7 to 15 percent per year. Homeschooling is analternative to public education. It is a wrong choice that many parents make to teach their children at home. In the United States, homeschooling shouldn´t be permitted because it doesn´t help kids tobe sociable, in some cases money problems could come and affect the family financially and it doesn´t prepare students for adult society.
First of all, homeschooling shouldn´t be allowed because itdoesn´t help kids to develop into the society. This idea is supported by testimony from Isabel Shaw, a psychologist, ¨Experiences of diversity are lost when students are taught in the home. They havelost the opportunity to work with peers of varying cultures and social statuses in an academic environment.¨ this quote help us to understand a different point of view, a psychologist´s point ofview. It shows us how being homeschooled can keep you from having wonderful experiences like friendship or experiences such as learning from other cultures.
Additionally, money problems could resultfrom home schooling. In the majority for married parents, one partner has to leave work to dedicate themselves full time to teaching their child at home. They spend too much money to get the suppliesnecessary to teach their kid. ¨The money problems come in when one of the marriage partner has to leave to teach the child. Remember that homeschooling can take so much time. For parents who both havecarriers, sacrificing one source of income can be pretty hard for the whole family.¨ This quote is support by Low Jeremy. Low Jeremy´s testimony helps us to understand how homeschooling could affect afamily by reducing their income of money.
