WARNING: ENSURE PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE OPERATION.
CAUTION: IF BINDING, JAMMING OR SCRAPING OCCUR DRING FOLLOWING PROCEDURES, STOP OPERATION IMMEDIATELY ADINVESTIGATE.
1. AILERON CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATIONAL TEST.
A. Disengage gust lock.
B. Operate aileron in both directions with control wheel until surface are contacted.
C. Operateaileron trim wheel in both directions until trim wheel stops are contacted as follows:
(1) Aileron trim wheel left – tab down 20° +- 2° .
(2) Aileron trim wheel right – tab up 20° +- 2 ° .D. Ensure cockpit indicator corresponds to tab position.
E. Return tab to 0 on indicator.
F. Engage gust lock.
G. Operate aileron control wheel in both directions to check spring tabthrows against stops.
NOTE: Ailerons will not move but spring tabs will go to full travel.
2. ELEVATOR CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATIONAL TEST:
A. Disengage gust lock.
B. Operate elevator in bothdirections with control column until surface stops are contacted.
C. Operate elevator trim wheel in both directions until surface stops are contacted as follows:
(1) Elevator trim wheel fullfwd. – tabs up 2 +- ½ A/C 1-25
3 +- ½ A/C 26 and sub.
(2) Elevator trim wheel full aft –tabs down 20 +- 2 .
D. Check that cockpit indicator corresponds to tab positions.
E. Return tab to 0 on indicator.
3. RUDDER CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATIONAL TEST:
A. Operate rudder inboth directions until surface stops are contacted.
B. Operate rudder trim wheel in both directions until surface stops are contacted as follows:
(1) Rudder trim wheel left – tab right 10 +- 1.
(2) Rudder trim wheel right – tab left 10 +- 1 .
C. Ensure cockpit indicator corresponds to tab positions.
D. Return tab to 0 on indicator.
