Industrialization and Mexican Miracle
This report will present an analysis about the Industrialization in Mexico and also about a period known as “The Mexican Miracle”, periods in which Mexico facedcertain changes of its business production. First, industrialization will be explained until arrive to 1940, where The Mexican Miracle was born. Agrarian-based economy transformed to industrializedcapitalism due to significant changes in the way of doing business. At last, this period will be clarified with its important events till it died and the causes of it.
Industrialization

The era ofglory, known as “The Mexican Miracle” is where Mexico initiated a stage of sustainable growth and was the transformation to a modern and industrialized nation. Mexico´s agrarian-based economytransformed into an industrialized capitalism, where this country had a 3 to 4 percent of economic growth, “Desarrollo Hacia Afuera”.
This period started in 1940 when Manuel Avila Camacho was electedpresident of Mexico. He created IMSS, reduced the external debt and having a loose relationship with the United States due to Cardenas´ reforms in his presidency improved it. Avila Camacho arranged a dealwith the U.S. in World War II where Mexico gave strategic products such as strong fibers to the U.S. in exchange of necessary products for industrial development. In 1946 Miguel Aleman Valdes was thenext Mexican president, he pursued industrialization keeping with the extent of railroads and the construction of major schools. He created the Import Substitution Program, which entailed strictpolicies regarding imports. The policies were: an active industrial policy to subsidize and orchestrate production of strategic substitutes, protective barriers to trade such as tariffs, an overvaluedcurrency to help manufacturers import capital goods and discouragement of foreign direct investment.
