BARRANQUILLA CARNIVAL
The Carnival of Barranquilla is the folk festival's most important cultural and Colombia.Y the second biggest carnival in the world after Rio de Janeiro carnival. In 1923 he wasinstitutionalizes the reigns.
In 1967 he entered the Grand Parade to the carnival, folk dance parade that takes place on the second day of carnival.
In 1969 he created the Festival of Orchestras.
In 1974, on theinitiative of Esthercita Forero, is carried out Guacherna.
In 2001, the Barranquilla Carnival receives the recognition of "National Cultural Heritage" by the National Congress of Colombia.
In 2003 hewas declared a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by the Unesco.14
In 2013 it ranked 10 dances "heritage". This statement is an effort to keep these 10 dances in danger ofdisappearing.
