INTRODUCTION

Tutankhamun was probably born at Akhetaten which was the capital city of Egypt. He was born in about the year 1346 BC. His father was the pharaoh Akehenhaten.
Tutankhamun became Pharaoh of Egypt soon after his father died in 1337 BC, when he was only nine years old.
Soonafter he became pharaoh, he married his teenage sister. This was a traditional Egyptian thing to do.

WHO WAS TUTEAN KHAAMEN?

Tutankhamun (alternatively spelled with Tutenkh, amen, amon)

Was an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (ruled ca. 1332 BC – 1323 BC in the conventional chronology), during the period of Egyptian history known as the NewKingdom. He is popularly referred to as King Tut. His original name, Tutankhaten, means "Living Image of Aten", while Tutankhamun means "Living Image of Amun". In hieroglyphs, the name Tutankhamun was typically written Amen-tut-ankh, because of a scribal custom that placed a divine name at the beginning of a phrase to show appropriate reverence. He is possibly also the Nibhurrereya of the Amarnaletters, and likely the 18th dynasty king Rathotis who, according to Manetho, an ancient historian, had reigned for nine years a figure that conforms with Flavius Josephus's version of Manetho's Epitome.

The 1922 discovery by Howard Carter and George Herbert, 5th Earl of Carnarvon of Tutankhamun's nearly intact tomb received worldwide press coverage. It sparked a renewed public interest in ancientEgypt, for which Tutankhamun's burial mask remains the popular symbol. Exhibits of artifacts from his tomb have toured the world. In February 2010, the results of DNA tests confirmed that he was the son of Akhenaten (mummy KV55) and Akhenaten's sister and wife (mummy KV35YL), whose name is unknown but whose remains are positively identified as "The Younger Lady" mummy found in KV35.MENTION SOME CHARACTERISTICS

Characteristics of his life style:

▪ Sports
Tutankhamun would also enjoyed sports related activities such as hunting and fishing. Hunting could be an extremely dangerous sport due to the wild nature of the animals which were hunted, and Tutankhamun would not have been allowed to participate in these dangerous hunts until he was into histeens. He would also have become highly proficient in all military related sports including archery, spear throwing and riding chariots. There are depictions on the tomb of Tutankhamun showing scenes where he is riding a chariot. It is quite possible that he also fought in battles against the enemies of Egypt, the Hittites and the Nubians. No less than six chariots were buried with King Tut in his tomb.▪ The Culture
The Ancient Egyptians lived in a well ordered society which was administered by law enforcers, judges and courts. All classes of society paid taxes who in turn paid for the government and army. The Pyramid of Power started with the Pharaoh who was the absolute ruler of Ancient Egypt. The Ancient Egyptians loved music and Tutankhamun would have enjoyed music which wouldhave provided a focal point at banquets and religious ceremonies.

▪ What did Tutankhamun eat and drink?
Egyptian Food and Drink varied according to status and wealth. In the royal palace Tutankhamun would have enjoyed a large variety of food and drinks served from dishes made of faience, gold, silver and bronze. He would have dined at low tables eating with his fingers. Meat was expensivebecause Egypt had limited land for grazing as it was needed for growing crops but the royal court and Tutankhamun would have ate Beef, Mutton
