Jewish Costumes and Nobel Prizes
The Jewish are an ethnic group that descend from the ancient Israelites in the Middle East. Religion is, therefore, an ethnic aspect of the Jewish people, as well as cultural, social, linguistic, and so on. The Jews have suffered a long history of persecution in different places and their population has changed overthe centuries. Today, most believe that the current world Jewish population between 12 and 15 million, 5 most of them living in the U.S. and Israel.
One of the most sustained costumes and traditions all time, are those practiced by the Jews. And the basis for this is their religion that is rooted in each of them. Next we will see some of the main costumes they have:
The black clothing of theRabbis: It is used to show humility and modesty. And that is imitated by many Jews who wear the jacket and pants color. This custom is mentioned in their laws (Shulchan Aruch).
* Welcome Guest: The book of the Mishnah indicates the good treatment that a Jew must have with your neighbor. Being the best possible care according to their abilities.
* The kippa: In Spanish it is known asskullcap, and the meaning given to use is to remember that someone is always on us, God.
* Breaking a glass: When Jews marry have a habit of breaking a glass wrapped in a white handkerchief is to remember the Holy Temple, which is destroyed
* When you die: A plaque is placed in the abbreviation tiles ZL - Zichron liberajá - meaning the Hebrew language will be remembered for blessing.
These arethe major, oldest traditions, but there are also celebrations that they have during the year as:
Sabbat is celebrated every Friday and they don’t go to work on Saturday.
Rosh Hashana: The Jewish year beginning
* Yom Kippur: The date in which they ask forgiveness of the sins they have done in the year. (There is a very long fasting that lasts 26 hours)
* Sukkot: A party where they build ahouse called suka and sleep and eat there for seven days.
* Simchat Torah: Celebration of the Torah and they dance with her. They just read it and start again in that happy party.
* Shavuot: Celebration that God has given them the 10 commandments table on Mount Sinai.
* Purim holiday: Is a funny one given that they all put costumes and welcome the Queen Esther who married to the kingAjashberosh (King of Mesopotamia) to end the evil Amaan, who wanted to destroy all the Jews.
* Pesach: The day they celebrate the Exodus from Egypt of the Jews who were slaves there. They can not eat bread, pasta or anything with yeast to commemorate the Jews
* Hanukkah: They remember the destruction of the Bet-Hamikdash (the most sacred temple that they built which was destroyed twice andboth times. They can not build a new one until it reaches they messiah.
* Your Bishvaat: They celebrate trees mainly but also to all plants and flowers.

Some manners are:
* Bar mitzvah: The ceremony is done to the youth to the thirteenth birthday, a symbol that they have become men.
* Bat Mitzvah: It's like the Bar Mitzvah, but it is for women and is performed when they reach twelveyears of age. It is a very recent tradition.
* Brit Mila: It's when there are eight days of birth of a child. They do a circumscition to them.
* Tebila: It is a sacred water bath for women who are getting married or who are pregnant or sick.
Finally, another base of their religión and costumes is education. Education is very important and they see that as a sign of success andachievement, that’s why there aremany jews who are very successful in all fields of science, technology, medicine, business, academics, artists, etc.
Given that, around 35% of all Nobel prizes of all time have been given to Jews. Here’s a lst o them:
