Madame Tussaud is Marie Tussaud, was born in France . She worked as a housekeeper for Dr. Philippe Curtius who was an expert in wax modelling. He taught Marie her craft.
Curtius made a waxwork of Marie Jeanne du Barry, the Louis xv’s lover. That wax model is the oldest work in the museum.
His first exhibition was show in 1770; it had a big audience. Then the exhibition moved tothe Royal Palace in Paris in 1776.
Marie Tussaud made her first wax model of Francois Marie Arouet de Voltaire in 1777. Also she modelled Jean Rousseau and Benjamín Franklin.
When Curtiusdied, he left all his wax models collection to Marie. She married Francois Tussaud; they had two kids.
In 1802 she went to London. Because of the war she couldn´t return to France, so took hercollection and travelled to Ireland and all Great Britain. Tussaud open her first museum on Baker Street in London in 1835.
One of most important attraction of her museum was the Chamber ofHorrors which included died people of the French Revolution, killers and criminals.
In 1842, she made a wax model of herself which now is in the front door of the museum. She died sleeping in1850.
In 1883, the museum moved to Marylebone Road where is now.

Madame Tussauds is the best wax museum in the World. The museum contains wax models of famouse people like the Royal Family(England), film stars, sport stars and famous killers. It has expanded to others important cities like London, Amsterdam, Berlín, New York, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Washington and Hollywood.LONDON
