1. Place yourself in the role of the manager. What should you do know? After considering what happened would you change any of your behaviors?

I think I should have known it would happen in thisway. Because I should have known that the negative emotion felt by Dinah would generate a big inconvenient. I knew her behavior; I had long worked with her. I forgot her job involvement( dedication tothe job) and her emotional commitment with the organization, she really felt that she was doing something important with a real benefit for others.

Sure I would change my behaviors starting byhearing my emotion (self-conscious emotion), in this case: embarrassment and the way this emotion would affect my mood : “ I felt bad but figured there wasn´t much to do.” In other words I forgot to usemy emotional intelligence:

• I stood aside my self-awareness, my ability to understand my emotions and their impact in my work.

• I stood aside my social awareness forgetting howimportant was understand Dinah emotion.

• I stood aside my relationship management, I forget to reinforce my good relationship with Dinah and influence her emotions in a positive way.

• Myattitude towards my chief Fred Marsh and Dinah wasn´t the best, I react in a negative way I just don´t say anything, my employee engagement was next to sub zero level: ¨The thing was ancient historyanyway. Why should I be concerned about it? I wasn´t even her when it happened.”

• Think that everything the company needed was sales (projection perceptual distortion)

• I wasn´t able toavoid emotion and mood contagion in the company after Dinah´s actions.

2. Do you think Dinah was right? Why or why not? If you were she and you had it to do all over again, would you do anythingdifferently? If so, what and why?

It depends whether we appreciated her job involvement I can say that she really was passionate about her job and she was really committed with quality. In that sense,...
