Sweaters determine a big proportion of knitwear production in the worldwide market, United States is the first buyers of cottonfollowed by Germany … Peruvian cotton is known as the finest in the world thanks to a great climatic conditions which can allow our cpuntry to harvest cotton, specially in northern coastal valleys ofPiura, which with the combination of rich soil and ecuatorian perfect temperatures,
European market, this production includes polo-shirts, jumpers and slipovers. According to PromPeru and Comtrade(Chart 1), Germany is the second most important import countries of cotton crafted sweaters after the Unites States and before Hong Kong. It is also one of the principal exporters in the world at thesame time. It is important to mention that principal manufactures of cotton and sweaters in the world have to adapt or improve its performance in the value chain process due to the different likesand luxuries of some customer demand.
According to a chart from PromPeru,(Chart 2) Our country is positisioned as the 35th import partner and that the principal German import partners are China inthe first place followed by Bangladesh and Turkey.
Market Preferences:
There are several ways to perceive value and likes in the European Market; for instance Some ccustomers much rather preferhigh quality in the output, whereas others prefer style and design. Style and design are the main influences from France and Italy.
Although Germans are polite and formal in many occasions, they do nottend to dress ostentatiously, they always prefer a more conservative way of dress code that is why our sweaters will have dark colours accourding to German

preferences, in order to make it moreattractive we can design Peruvian known symbols like Nazca lines or machu picchu without using too many colours and always focusing on quality standards for their clothing.
