Is Zero Tolerance a Good idea

Zero tolerance means that certain actions will absolutely not be tolerated under any circumstances. It is generally used in reference to policies that spell outexactly which actions are forbidden. For example, many schools have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to bullying. Any words, threats, or actions that are construed as bullying will be punishedseverely. Reading articles about zero-tolerance, most of them speak of tolerance in schools in police matters, such as carrying weapons within a school, violent, etc.
The points in favor of putting zero-tolerance in schools are that it provides greater protection for students, teachers and other people working in the institute. Giving examples and based on what I read, is that for example if a studentuses weapons in school, can damage many people knowing it or not knowing how to use the weapons, so putting as zero-tolerance, is to have the basic rules school and the student who does not complywith the rules will be expelled, for safety of others.
Another example and very common today than the use of weapons, is the handling of drugs like cocaine within schools, as it is consuming smallersince ages, and the damage that an individual may have many. So these activities shall be prohibited within the institute. If a student is under the influence of drugs, lose track of time and space, andtherefore can act unconsciously harming of another person and kill her.
The reasons for being against the zero-tolerance is that “strict rules” may lead students to try to defy them and see thatreally does not matter if you do the opposite to the regulations, is very common in young students, who not obey, they are not responsible, and trying to do the forbidden, with them, the zero-tolerancewould not be a good way to avoid to do so, so if the student does, and is expelled from school, simply the exchange student from school and continue to do the same, without learning from their...
