To better understand the goal of this forum on Fair Trade, it is necessary to realize that this movement’s principle is based on the establishmentof just relations between producers and consumers as a way to achieve the development of producer communities, as their livelihoods are improved upon receiving a fair price for their products.
Thisimplies the variation in trade relations with developed and emerging countries where in the first place we have the distributor and in a second place the producers. On top of this, a base price isestablished that covers the production costs plus a fair trade premium (prize) which is destined for diverse local community development projects.
