Women in Catholic Church:
Throughout history women have played an important role in world political, religious, and cultural environments’ changes in which theyhave set their part to improve the world we live. Women like Joan of Arc, who had more courage than many of the king’s knight to fight against the British and stop them in their quest to invade France;women who sacrifice their properties as Isabella of Castile who sold her jewels to finance a dreamer (Columbus) ; women who know their human value and defend it calling for equality of their rightsas Rosa Parks did; women who make the world know that the love to the neighbor, especially the most needy, is a big rock to build the foundations for a better society as Mother Teresa of Calcutta did.The woman in the world has worked hand in hand with the man. Women have yet been treated in different ways depending on the culture of each nation, however the most popular beliefs about women in theworld is that them are the weaker sex, which are confined to the house, or that serve only to satisfy man needs and procreation. As in certain parts of Africa where women are mutilated from clitoristo not feel any pleasure, and then they are sewn from the vagina so that only the man who married them would be the first having sexual intimacy with them. In others parts of the world women are notrequired doing that kind of mutilation, but they are demanded to be virgins until the wedding day. If woman is not virgin before married, she is treated as whore; it is sad but this still happens insome countries of Latin America where, after the wedding night the bride’s mother-in-law has to check the sheets used by the couple in their firs sexual intercourse to make sure her daughter-in-lawwas "virgin."
It is sad to hear these stories about how women is treated in some cultures, however is sadder to read in the news how several women are killed in the world and how their deaths are...
