Norma Oficial De Hipertencion Arterial

Antecedentes: la hipertensión arterial sistémica afecta a aproximadamente un billón de personas en el mundo; en México, 15.1 millones la padecen, según la Encuesta Nacional de Salud 2000.
La Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-030-SSA2-1999 considera como hipertensión arterial a aquella mayor o igual a 140 mmHg de sistólica e igual o mayor a 90 mmHg de diastólica, y la clasifica en tres etapas. Elséptimo reporte del Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (JNC VII) recientemente la reclasificó en dos etapas y acuñó el término ‘prehipertensión’.
Objetivo: determinar la prevalencia de la prehipertensión e hipertensión arterial sistémica en el personal de enfermería de la Clínica Hospital ISSSTECALI Ensenada.
Material y métodos: estudioobservacional, transversal, hecho en 107 enfermeras(os) de la Clínica Hospital ISSSTECALI Ensenada, que evaluó edad, género, tensión arterial sistólica y diastólica, y los clasificó según el JNC VII. El análisis estadístico utilizó los programas Stats v.1.1 y Excel 2003.
Resultados: del total de participantes en el estudio, 87% fueron mujeres y 13%, hombres. Las edades estaban entre 21 y 55 años,con media de 34.8. La prevalencia de la prehipertensión fue de 39.2% y la de hipertensión arterial sistémica, 9.34%. La media de edad en cuanto a la hipertensión fue de 43.6 años, y de 32.6 años en prehipertensión.
Conclusiones: la prevalencia entre el personal estudiado es menor a la media para el estado de Baja California; sin embargo, la cifra de prehipertensión encontrada es demasiado alta yrequiere cambios urgentes en el estilo de vida. Son necesarios estudios de seguimiento, medidas de apoyo y medicina preventiva para evitar el progreso hasta la hipertensión y, por ende, la coronariopatía.

ABSTRACT
Background: Systemic hypertension affects approximately a trillion people on a worldwide basis; in Mexico, according to the NationalSurvey of Health 2000, 15.1 million suffer of hypertension. The Official Mexican Norm NOM-030-SSA2-1999 considers arterial hypertension as a greater figure or equal to 140 mmHg of systolic and/or equal or higher than 90 mmHg of diastolic, classifying it in three phases. The JNC VII recently reclassifies in two phases and creates the term “pre-hypertension”.
Objective: To determine the prevalence ofpre-hypertension and systemic arterial hypertension in nursing personnel at the Clinical Hospital ISSSTECALI Ensenada.
Material and methods: A transversal, observational study was carried out in 107 nurses and male nurses of ISSSTECALI Ensenada. Age, sex, systolic and diastolic blood pressure variables were measured, and hypertension and pre-hypertension was classified in agreement with JNC VII.The statistical analysis was made with the Stats v.1.1 and Excel 2003 programs.
Results: In our study, 87% of the participants were female and 13%, male. Measurement of the variables was carried out; finding that in the population studied the age of the participants was ranged from 21 to 55 years, with an average of 34.8. The prevalence of pre-hypertension was of the 39.2% and of systemicarterial hypertension of 9.34%. The average of age in hypertension was of 43.6 years and of 32.6 years in pre-hypertension.
Conclusions: This study shows prevalence in nursing personnel is smaller in comparison to average people for the state of Baja California. Nevertheless, is alarming the pre-hypertension found, therefore it is imperative to modify the lifestyles in our study group. It is necessaryto make monitoring studies as well as establish measures of support along with preventive medicine in order to avoid the progression to hypertension and therefore to coronary artery disease in our health personnel.
